Afraid you will regret swapping the tub or the shower?

You are stuck between a tub and a shower, and you do not want to pick wrong. Maybe your Altamonte Springs home has only a shower and you miss a bath, or maybe you are eyeing the only tub in the house. Either way, the fear is the same: regret now, or a buyer who walks away later.

That back and forth is normal, and it comes down to two things. A tub gives you a place to bathe small children and to soak. A shower is easier to step into, with no tub wall to climb over. Some buyers, mostly families with young kids, like to see at least one tub in a home. So the useful question is not which is better. It is whether your home would end up with no tub at all.

Putting a tub where a shower now stands is a job for the wet area only. The floor, the vanity and the rest of the room stay put. What makes it bigger or smaller is the size and layout of the space, the tub you choose, the wall style and finish, the fixture finish, and extras like a seat or grab bars. Many installs are done in as little as one day, and a second day is rare.

This week, write down who uses that bathroom today and who might in three or four years. Grandkids who stay over, a parent who may move in, or just you and your knees. If the home has a second tub, changing this one is rarely a problem. If it is the only one, slow down. Love Your Bath can send a designer who listens to what you want and builds a custom plan with options and a free quote. All homeowners are asked to be there for that visit.

Once you decide, the second-guessing stops. In Altamonte Springs, one bathtub replacement from 2025 has smooth Crystal Frost walls and Brushed Nickel fixtures. Jennifer D. wrote about a tub install, "Earl did a very professional job with our tub installation, the result is great,we love it." You end up with a bathroom that fits the people who use it.
