A Safer Tub or Shower for Your Clearwater Home

Many people start looking after a close call, like a slip stepping out of the tub or a parent who now showers only when someone else is home. Others in Clearwater are planning ahead, so the house keeps working for them as the years go by. Either way, the goal is a tub or shower you can get in and out of with less worry.

Here, the work centers on the wet area, the tub or the shower, not the whole room. The usual changes are grab bars, a built-in seat, a low entry and a barrier-free shower. Some people swap the tub for a shower they can walk into. Others keep a bath and pick a walk-in tub, with a low-threshold entry, an easy-to-open, water-sealing door, grab bars and an integrated seat. In Clearwater, jobs have included a bathtub replacement, a shower replacement and a walk-in tub. That bathtub, from 2024, has Brushed Nickel fixtures and an open entry with no door. Anna F. said her designer "catered to our needs for both beauty and safety for our new bathroom conversion."

Clearwater is the county seat of Pinellas County, and the city says it sits on the highest coastal bluff in Florida. The median age here is about 48. Its neighborhoods run from Clearwater Beach and Island Estates on the Memorial Causeway to Countryside, where Countryside Mall sits on US 19 North. None of those facts changes how a grab bar works. What matters is your own bathroom. How tall is the tub wall? Is there anything solid to hold? Can you sit while you wash?

What you pay depends on your choices and your space. That covers the size and layout of the area, a shower or a bathtub, the base, the wall style and finish, the fixture finish, and extras like a seat, shelves or grab bars. For a walk-in tub, the tub size and the accessibility and wellness features you choose shape the quote. The free quote includes the product and the installation. Installs take in as little as one day.

First, you call Love Your Bath and pick a time for a design visit. A designer visits your home, listens to what you want, and puts together a custom plan with options and a free quote. All homeowners are asked to be at that visit, so pick a day when all of you can be there. Next, you choose the colors, the finishes and the safety features. Then the install day is set, and the crew works only on the tub or shower area.

When it is finished, getting in and out takes less effort and less nerve. A grab bar is where your hand goes. A seat is there when you need a break. Your bathroom still looks like part of your home, only easier to use, and you can keep living in Clearwater the way you planned.
