Tub-to-Shower Conversion in Cocoa Beach: Trade the Wall for a Step
How a tub becomes a low-threshold shower in Cocoa Beach, FL: the job, your choices, the quote and the visit.
You live in Cocoa Beach, and the tub wall has started to feel higher than it did a few years ago. Maybe it is your own knees, or a parent who now asks for a hand. Either way, you want a shower you can walk straight into, and you want to know what that really takes before you call anyone.
For a home in Cocoa Beach, a tub-to-shower conversion means the tub comes out and a low-threshold Jacuzzi® shower goes into the same spot. Nothing outside the wet area is touched, so floors and vanities stay put. You pick the wall type and color, the base and the fixture colors. A custom pan is made whenever the existing shape allows it. The walls are grout-free, with an antimicrobial surface that helps cut down on mold and mildew. One Cocoa Beach shower replacement from 2025 shows how it can come together: smooth Sandshell Beige walls, Chrome fixtures, a dual bypass door and a teak seat.
Cocoa Beach faces the Atlantic, with 5.6 miles of oceanfront, and SR A1A is the main road through town. The city grew fast in the 1950s and 1960s, as people moved there for space program jobs. Its median age is 59.8 years. We have done three jobs in Cocoa Beach: two shower replacements and one bathtub replacement. Those are facts about the town, not about your bathroom, so look closely at your own space. How high is the step over the tub? Where would a seat or a grab bar help most?
No two bathrooms are alike, so each conversion is quoted in the home. The number reflects the size and layout of the tub space, the base, the wall style and finish, the fixture finish, and anything extra you add, like a seat, shelves or grab bars. The free quote takes in both the product and the installation. Cost, permits and whether converting suits your house are each answered on their own pages below.
The first step is a call to book a design visit, and all homeowners are asked to be there. A designer from Love Your Bath listens to what you want, then builds a custom plan with options and a free quote. You choose the colors, finishes and safety features. On install day, the tub comes out and the new shower goes in. R5 S. wrote that they were "looking forward to how much easier it'll be to get in and out of the shower safely."
Afterward, the shower is the easy part of the day. You step in on a low threshold, sit down if you added a seat, and reach a grab bar right where you planned it. A lifetime warranty covers the work and the product for as long as you own the home.
