Walk-In Showers in Fort Myers: A Step In, Not a Climb
What a walk-in shower involves for a Fort Myers, FL home, what sets the price, and how the work goes.
If you are looking at walk-in showers in Fort Myers, the tub wall has probably started to feel taller than it used to. Maybe it is you, or maybe it is a parent you worry about. A walk-in shower trades that climb for a low step, with a seat and grab bars right where your hands go.
A walk-in shower is the same focused job whether your home sits off McGregor Boulevard, in North Fort Myers or near the River District downtown. Only the wet area changes. The old tub or shower comes out, and a Jacuzzi® shower system goes in its place. You get a low or barrier-free entry, a built-in seat if you want one, and grab bars where they help you most. The walls are grout-free, with antimicrobial surfaces that help reduce mold and mildew buildup. In Fort Myers, we have replaced two showers and put in one walk-in tub. One of those showers, from 2024, pairs smooth Midnight Storm walls with Oil Rubbed Bronze fixtures and an Alabaster White base.
Nothing about Fort Myers itself changes how a walk-in shower goes in. What shapes the plan is your own bathroom and the people who use it. Notice how high you lift your foot to get in today. Check whether there is a solid place to hold on. Think about whether you would sit to wash if you had a seat. Write those things down before anyone comes out, so the plan fits the way you really bathe.
Every walk-in shower is priced in the home, because no two bathrooms are alike. The price depends on the size and layout of the space, the base, the wall style and finish, and the fixture finish. A seat, shelves and grab bars each add to the total. The free quote includes both the product and the installation. The work stays in the wet area, so floors and vanities are not part of it.
First, you call and set up a visit. A Love Your Bath designer comes to your home, listens to what you want, and builds a custom plan with options and a free quote. All homeowners are asked to be there. Next, you pick the wall color, the base, the fixture finish and the safety features. Then the crew comes to install it. When they finish, they go over every detail with you and activate your lifetime warranty right then.
After that, getting clean is simple again. You step in instead of climbing over a wall. You sit if you want to, and a grab bar is there when you reach for it. The warranty covers you for as long as you own the home. If one worry is still on your mind, the questions below each have their own page.

What people in Fort Myers say
"Had a Garden Tub to Walk in shower conversion . Tristan was the installer. He did this 2 day job by himself . I was very impressed with his skills during demo and install in a 3rd floor condo incased in concrete. He had to break out the jack hammer to complete the drain. Once completed the Shower is awesome. Thank you Paul G"
