Bathroom Safety and Accessibility in Melbourne, Made Simple

You might be looking after a scare: a slip, a wobble, or a step over the tub wall that felt too high. Or you might be planning ahead for a parent in West Melbourne or near the Eau Gallie Arts District. Either way, the goal in Melbourne is a bathroom you can keep using on your own.

In Melbourne, this work stays in the wet area, the tub or the shower, and leaves the rest of the room alone. The changes are easy to picture. A low entry replaces the climb over a tub wall. A built-in seat gives you somewhere to rest. Grab bars sit where your hands reach. A barrier-free Jacuzzi® shower lets you walk in. Some people pick a walk-in tub instead, with a water-sealing door, grab bars and an integrated seat. Three showers have been replaced in Melbourne, including a 2024 shower with Platinum walls in a herringbone pattern, Chrome fixtures and an open entry with no door.

Melbourne sits in Brevard County on the Space Coast, borders the Indian River Lagoon and has a humid subtropical climate. Those facts describe the city, not your bathroom. The details that matter are inside your own home. Check how high your tub wall is. Notice whether there is anything solid to hold as you step in or stand up. See if a curtain or a door gets in your way. Ask yourself whether someone helps you now. Those answers point to the upgrade that fits.

Every shower and tub is quoted in the home, because every bathroom is different. The quote depends on the size and layout of your space, whether you want a shower or a bathtub, the base, the wall style and finish, and the fixture finish. Extras like a seat, shelves or grab bars are part of it too. For a walk-in tub, the size and the accessibility and wellness features you choose shape the number. The free quote includes the product and the installation.

First, you call and pick a time for a designer to come to your home. All homeowners are asked to be there for that visit. The Love Your Bath designer listens to what you need and builds a custom plan with options and a free quote. You choose the colors, finishes and safety features. On install day, the crew replaces just the tub or shower, goes over every detail with you, and activates the lifetime warranty right then. Richelle J. wrote that the team who put in her mother's shower "were highly professional and efficient."

When it is done, you step in instead of climbing over. There is a seat if you want to sit and a bar where your hand lands. Questions about Medicare, paying for the work and other options besides a walk-in tub each have their own page below. What is left is a bathroom you can use on your own terms.
