Swap the tub or keep it? A simple way to decide
Help for Naples, FL homeowners weighing a shower-to-tub conversion, or the reverse, without the regret.
You are looking at your bathroom in Naples and wondering if a tub or a shower makes more sense for the years ahead. Maybe the grandkids visit and need a bath. Maybe you would rather step in than climb over. Either way, you do not want to undo it later.
Feeling torn is normal. A tub and a shower solve different problems. A tub is the easy way to bathe young children and the place for a long soak. A walk-in shower gives easier step-in access, with no tub wall to climb over. Regret tends to come from choosing for one person and forgetting the others who use the room.
Changing one for the other only touches the wet area. The old unit comes out, the new Jacuzzi® tub or shower goes in, and the walls around it are redone. Your floor and vanity stay put. What makes the job bigger or smaller is the size and layout of the space, the base and wall finish you pick, and extras like grab bars, shelves or a seat. A tub can also have a slip-resistant surface and grab bars, so it is not all or nothing.
Start with a short list. Who uses this bathroom today? Who will in five years? Is there another tub in the house? If there is, changing this one is a smaller call. If it is the only tub, give that real weight. Then book a design visit with Love Your Bath at your Naples home. The designer listens to what you want and builds a custom plan with options and a free quote. All homeowners are asked to be there, so you can decide together.
Once you choose, the room works for the people who use it. For a sense of the finishes, one bathtub replacement in Naples in 2024 has smooth Alabaster walls and Brushed Nickel fixtures. Whatever you pick is backed by a lifetime warranty that covers you for as long as you own the home.
