Tub-to-Shower Conversion for New Smyrna Beach Homes
How a tub becomes a step-in shower for homes in New Smyrna Beach, FL: the choices, the price factors and the steps.
In New Smyrna Beach, you might walk the raised boardwalks at Smyrna Dunes Park without a second thought, yet stepping over the tub wall at home is a different story. That gap is often what starts the search for a tub-to-shower conversion. You want a shower you can walk straight into.
For a home in New Smyrna Beach, the job is focused on one spot. The tub comes out, and a low-threshold Jacuzzi® shower goes into the same opening. You pick the wall type and color, the base type and color, and the fixture finish, plus extras like a seat, shelves or grab bars, if you want them. Very low-profile custom pans are made when the existing shape fits. Three showers in New Smyrna Beach have been replaced so far. One, from 2023, has smooth Crystal Frost walls, Chrome fixtures and a dual bypass door. Every new shower starts from the owner's own picks.
New Smyrna Beach has a median age of 58.3. Its downtown sits on the west side of the Indian River, and the beach is on the barrier island across the water. Those facts describe the town, not your bathroom. For the job itself, look closely at your own home. How many tubs are there? What is around this one? Who will use the shower most, and would a seat or grab bars help them? Take a few notes before anyone visits.
No two bathrooms are the same, so every shower is priced in the home. The price depends on the size and layout of the tub space, the base, the wall style and finish, the fixture finish and any extras. That free quote covers the product and the installation. The work stays in the wet area, so only the tub space changes. The floors and vanity are left as they are. Cost has its own page below.

Next, you choose colors, finishes and safety features. Then comes install day, which can take in as little as one day. After that, you can look forward to the first shower. Bill S. said Angie "did an excellent job installing my new Jacuzzi shower."
When it is finished, the tub wall is gone. You step into a shower with a low entry and the finishes you chose. If you want more on permits or whether this is the right move, those answers are just below. The choices you made at the design visit are the ones you see each morning, and there is no more lifting a leg over the side.
