Want the Tub Out and a Walk-In Shower In? Here's What It Takes
The steps, the choices and what sets the quote for walk-in showers in New Smyrna Beach, FL.
Your New Smyrna Beach bathroom has a tub that mostly serves as a shower with a high wall around it. You would like to have it taken out and simply walk in instead. Before you call anyone, you want a feel for the size of the job and what goes into the price.
Turning a tub space into a walk-in shower keeps everything in the same footprint. The tub is lifted out, the space is cleaned out, and a Jacuzzi® shower base goes in with a low or barrier-free entry. A new wall system goes up around it. When the existing shape fits, a custom pan is made, and very low-profile pans are an option for an even easier step. Your floor and vanity are left as they are.
The price comes from a quote at your home, because no two tub spaces are the same. It depends on the size and layout of the space, the base you choose, the wall style and finish, the fixture finish, and extras like a seat, shelves or grab bars. Each added feature grows the job a little. The free quote covers the product and the installation together. One New Smyrna Beach shower replacement from 2025 has smooth Seaside walls and Oil Rubbed Bronze fixtures.
This week, stand by your tub and picture the shower you want there. Then call Love Your Bath for a design visit, and have all homeowners there for it. A designer listens to you and builds a custom plan that comes with options and a free quote. Gary S. wrote that the designer "promptly arrived at our scheduled time and educated us on the Jacuzzi process and products for a new bath." The install itself is done mainly by their own crews.
With the tub gone, there is no wall to climb. You step in, turn on the water, and the space feels new. Terry M. wrote, "Jodeci is efficient and careful. He is considerate of my space and time, is punctual, and I will certainly recommend him."

Other things people in New Smyrna Beach ask
alternative to a walk-in tub for the elderly
The most common alternatives are a walk-in shower with a low or barrier-free entry, a tub-to-shower conversion, and adding a built-in seat and grab bars. Each one removes the climb over the tub wall. A designer can show you all of them side by side at home and quote the one that fits.
least expensive way to replace a shower
The lowest-cost way to get a real new shower is to replace just the shower: a new base and wall system installed over a cleaned-out space, with no full gut. That is what we do with Jacuzzi® shower systems, and most jobs take as little as one day.
