Walk-In Showers in New Smyrna Beach: Step In, Sit Down, Relax
What a walk-in shower involves for a New Smyrna Beach, FL home, from the design visit to the install.
Whether your home is in Venetian Bay, Lake Waterford Estates or near the Canal Street Historic District, the tub wall works the same way. Over time, it gets harder to step over. A walk-in shower in your New Smyrna Beach home swaps that climb for a low step, a seat and bars to hold.
New Smyrna Beach, in Volusia County, has its downtown on the west side of the Indian River and its beach on the barrier island across the water. Wherever your home sits, the shower job follows one plan. The existing tub or shower comes out, and only that wet area is worked on. A Jacuzzi® shower base and wall system goes in with a low or barrier-free entry. You pick the wall color and pattern, the base and the fixture finish. We have replaced three showers in New Smyrna Beach. One from 2023 has smooth Crystal Frost walls, Chrome fixtures and a dual bypass door, and another from 2025 has smooth Seaside walls with Oil Rubbed Bronze fixtures.
The median age in New Smyrna Beach is 58.3 years. You may be planning for yourself, or for a parent who stays with you. Either way, check a few things first. How high is the tub wall when you lift your foot? Would you use a seat? Where would you reach for a bar? Would you like a door, or an open entry?
No two showers are priced alike, so each one is quoted in your home. The size and layout of the space, whether it is a shower or a tub, the base, the wall style and finish, the fixture finish, and extras like a seat, shelves or grab bars all shape the quote. The free quote includes the product and the installation. Installs take in as little as one day, and on rare jobs a second day is needed. The questions below cover cost and tub removal in more detail.
First, you call to book a design visit, and all homeowners are asked to be present. A designer listens to what you are after and builds a custom plan with options and a free quote. Vicky B. wrote about that kind of visit: "Very knowledgeable explain everything in detail. Answer all questions." Then Love Your Bath sets the install date, the new shower goes in, and the crew goes over every detail before leaving.
When it is done, you step in without a climb, sit if you like, and hold a bar placed where you need it. Martha S. wrote, "The shower walls look beautiful and of great quality." The bathroom simply works for the way you live now.
