Putting a tub back in: smart move or future regret?
Honest help deciding on a shower-to-tub conversion for your Ponte Vedra, FL home.
At some point the tub became a shower, and now you are not sure that was right. Maybe a grandchild needs baths when they stay over, or you picture a buyer walking through your Ponte Vedra home and asking where the tub went. Before you spend anything, it helps to know when a tub truly matters and when it does not.
Here is the plain truth about tubs and showers. A tub matters most to families with small children, who need somewhere for bath time. A shower matters most to people who want an easy step in, with no high side to climb over. If your house already has another tub, turning one bathroom either way is rarely a problem. The harder case is the home with only one place to bathe.
In Ponte Vedra, as anywhere, a shower-to-tub conversion only replaces the shower area. Out comes the shower, in goes a Jacuzzi® tub, and new walls go up around it. You choose the tub type, the wall color and pattern, and the fixture finish. We have replaced three showers in Ponte Vedra, and one from 2025 has Platinum walls in a carved stone pattern. What grows the job is the size of the space and extras like a seat or grab bars.
Start with three questions. Who uses this bathroom now? Who might use it in a few years? Is there a second tub anywhere in the house? Take those answers to a free design visit with Love Your Bath. All homeowners are asked to be present, so the people deciding can weigh it together. The designer listens and builds a custom plan with options and a free quote. You do not have to decide that day.
Then the choice gets made for real reasons, not worry. You keep the easy shower, or you get a tub that suits the family, with walls in the look you like. Robert W. described his experience as "very professional, no pressure," and that is how a big choice like this should feel.

The product is superior to another bath we changed and less expensive. We should have called Jacuzzi the first time."
