Ready to trade the old tub for a shower you can walk into?
What a tub-to-walk-in-shower change involves, and what sets the price, for homes in Ponte Vedra, FL.
The tub in your Ponte Vedra bathroom may get used for only one thing: standing in it to shower. Climbing over its side every day has started to feel like a chore, or a risk. You want it gone and a walk-in shower in its place, but you have no idea how big that job is.
What you are after is a tub-to-shower conversion. The tub is removed, and a walk-in shower with a low or barrier-free entry is built in the same spot. The shower you end up with is one you step into, not over. Steven U. wrote that "Angie took out a tub/shower in one bathroom and a shower unit in a second bathroom." So if you have two baths that need help, you can talk about both.
How big the job is depends on the space you have and what you want in it. The size and layout of the tub area, the base, the wall style and finish, the fixture finish, and extras like a seat, shelves or grab bars all shape the price. Each one is quoted in your home, and the free quote includes the product and the installation. A number from a friend's job will not match yours, since no two bathrooms are the same.
Pick a time when all the homeowners can be home together, since all of you are asked to be at the visit. Then reach out to Love Your Bath. A designer will listen to what you want, show you options and build a custom plan with a free quote. Bonnielynn G. said the representative "answered every question we had." Bring your list of questions. You can also ask about financing while the designer is there.
After the change, the bathroom has a walk-in shower where the tub used to be. Picture Alabaster walls in a herringbone pattern and Brushed Nickel fixtures, like one 2025 shower replacement in Ponte Vedra. You step in, wash and step out without a second thought. The old climb is simply not part of your day anymore.

Other things people in Ponte Vedra ask
alternative to a walk-in tub for the elderly
The most common alternatives are a walk-in shower with a low or barrier-free entry, a tub-to-shower conversion, and adding a built-in seat and grab bars. Each one removes the climb over the tub wall. A designer can show you all of them side by side at home and quote the one that fits.
least expensive way to replace a shower
The lowest-cost way to get a real new shower is to replace just the shower: a new base and wall system installed over a cleaned-out space, with no full gut. That is what we do with Jacuzzi® shower systems, and most jobs take as little as one day.
