Disadvantages of a walk-in tub? The honest answer
Plain answers about walk-in tubs for Riverview, in Hillsborough County.
You like the idea of a walk-in tub in your Riverview bathroom. Then you read that you sit inside while it fills, and stay there while it drains, and now you are not sure. That is a fair worry. Here is the plain truth about the wait, and how to tell if a walk-in tub fits the way you bathe.
The downside you read about is true. You get in while the tub is empty, close the door, and sit as it fills. When you finish, you stay seated until it drains. On a cool day, that can feel long. For some people it is a deal breaker. For others it is a fair trade for a bath without a climb over the tub wall.
Think about how you bathe today. If you soak a few times a week, the wait is part of the bath, and the options include heated air, water jets and a quick drain made for this exact worry. If you mostly shower, a walk-in tub may not fit your habits. The price depends on the tub size and the features you choose. A walk-in shower is another way to get an easier step in.
This week, write down how often you take a bath and how often you shower. Then ask about fill and drain speed on every model you compare. Love Your Bath, a Jacuzzi® Bath Remodel dealer, sends a designer to your Riverview home. The designer will listen to what you want and build a custom plan with options and a free quote. As Richard S. put it in his review, "Lenny did not try to up sell me on anything." Call when you are ready.
Once you pick the right fit, bathing stops being a worry. With a walk-in tub, you step in, sit on the built-in seat, hold the grab bars, and take a long soak. A shower can have a seat too. One Riverview shower replacement from 2025 has a teak seat and a dual bypass door.
