Shower-to-Tub Conversion in Tampa: Room for a Real Bath

Wanting a tub again in Tampa usually comes down to how life at home has changed. Little ones need a proper bath, a soak sounds better than a rinse, or you are thinking ahead to the day you sell. The shower that once seemed fine now feels like a compromise.

Tampa sits in Hillsborough County. Its Hyde Park neighborhood has historic homes and bungalows from the 1920s and 1930s, and Carrollwood's first homes sold in 1959. Whatever your house, a shower-to-tub conversion follows the same steps. The shower comes out, a genuine Jacuzzi® tub goes into that space, and a new wall surround goes up in the style you choose. Work in Tampa has included two shower replacements and one bathtub replacement. One of those showers, from 2025, has Alabaster walls in a 6x24 subway pattern with Oil Rubbed Bronze fixtures. You get the same range of wall and fixture choices for a tub.

The things that change your answer are inside your house. Is this the only bathroom where a tub would fit? Who will use it most, children who need a bath or adults who want to sit and soak? How easy is it to step over a tub side now, and how will that feel later? If it is getting harder, slip-resistant surfaces, grab bars and built-in seating are options worth asking about.

Every tub is quoted in the home. The price depends on the size and layout of the space, the tub style, the base, and the wall style and finish. The fixture finish and extras like a seat, shelves or grab bars also count. Only the wet area is part of the job, so floors and vanities are left as they are. First, you book a design visit, and all homeowners are asked to be there. The designer listens and builds a custom plan with options and a free quote. Second, you choose your colors, finishes and safety features. Third, a Love Your Bath crew installs the tub and walls. Installation is done mainly by their own crews, so one company is accountable from start to finish. Karen T. in a review tied to Tampa, wrote: "Angie is a superb craftsman."

Afterward, the bathroom works the way you need it to. You have a tub for long soaks or bath time, walls you chose, and a room ready for whoever comes next. The common worries about cost, permits and resale are answered below.
