Tub-to-Shower Conversion in Bonita Springs, Step by Step
What turning a tub into a walk-in shower involves in Bonita Springs, FL, from first visit to finished shower.
If you live in Bonita Springs and climbing over the tub wall has become a chore, a walk-in shower is probably on your mind. Maybe it is for you, or for family who stay with you during the year. Either way, you want to understand the whole job before you pick up the phone.
Here is what the work looks like in a Bonita Springs home. The old tub is removed, and a low-threshold Jacuzzi® shower takes over that same space. You pick the wall type and color, the base and its color, and the fixtures. In 2025 we replaced a shower in Bonita Springs with Alabaster walls in a tile pattern and Chrome fixtures. Showers can be barrier-free, or built on a very low-profile custom pan, made when the existing shape fits. Grout-free, antimicrobial surfaces help reduce mold and mildew buildup. The work stays in the wet area, the tub or shower, and goes no further.
Bonita Springs sits on Florida's southwest coast, in Lee County, with I-75 and US 41 both running through town. The Imperial River runs through downtown and empties into Estero Bay. Its neighborhoods include Pelican Landing and Bonita Bay. The town sees snowbirds and visitors arrive in the winter months. None of that changes the shower itself. What shapes the plan is your own bathroom: the size of the tub space, who will use it, and whether a seat or grab bars belong in it.
Every shower is quoted in the home, because no two bathrooms are the same. The price depends on the size and layout of the space, the base, the wall style and finish, the fixture finish, and extras like a seat, shelves or grab bars. The free quote includes both the product and the installation. If you have a budget in mind, say so at the visit. The cost question below has its own page with more detail.
It starts with a call to set up a free design visit, and all homeowners are asked to be there. A Love Your Bath designer comes to the house, listens to what you want, and builds a custom plan with options and a free quote. You choose your colors, finishes and any safety features. Installation is done mainly by our own crews. When the work is done, the crew walks you through every detail.
Once it is done, the tub wall is gone and getting in is a step, not a climb. R5 S. wrote about "looking forward to how much easier it'll be to get in and out of the shower safely." That is the goal for your Bonita Springs bathroom too, built around the colors and features you chose. No more holding onto the sink to get out of the bath.
