Disadvantages of a walk-in tub? Here is the honest answer
Straight talk for Brandon, FL homeowners deciding if a walk-in tub is the right fit.
You like the idea of a walk-in tub in Brandon, but you keep reading about sitting inside while it fills and drains. That is a fair worry. Brandon is a large suburban community near Tampa, with 114,626 people in 2020, and plenty of them are asking the same thing. It helps to know the real downside before you decide.
The main downside is real. A walk-in tub has a door, so you step in first, close it, and then the tub fills. You stay seated until the water drains, and then you step out. During that wait, you may feel cooler than you would in a shower. Some people do not mind at all. Others find it a dealbreaker. Neither answer is wrong.
What a walk-in tub involves depends on what you choose. The tub size and the features matter most, such as water jets, heated air and a quick drain option. If the wait worries you, the quick drain option is worth asking about. Every tub is quoted in your home, because no two bathrooms are the same. The quote includes the product and the installation. Only the tub area is worked on, not the rest of the bathroom.
This week, think about how you bathe today. Do you take long soaks, or mostly quick showers? When you compare models, ask how fast each one fills and drains. If you mostly shower, a walk-in shower may suit you better, with an easy step in and no wait. Love Your Bath, a Jacuzzi® Bath Remodel dealer, sends a designer to your Brandon home. They will tell you honestly which one fits how you use the bathroom.
If a walk-in tub is the right choice, you keep the long, relaxing bath and lose the climb over the tub wall. You get a low entry, a built-in seat and grab bars.
