Shower-to-Tub Conversion in Gainesville, From Visit to First Bath

Maybe your Gainesville home came with a shower where you would rather have a tub. Small children need baths, and some days you just want to soak. Turning that shower into a bathtub is one focused job, not a whole new bathroom, and the rest of the room is not part of it.

Here is what the work looks like in Gainesville. The shower comes out. A Jacuzzi® bathtub goes into that same space, and a new wall surround goes up in the style you pick. The job stops at the wet area, so floors and vanities stay out of it. Whether your house is near Depot Park, out toward Kanapaha Botanical Gardens or close to Paynes Prairie on the city's southern edge, every tub is quoted in the home, because no two bathrooms are the same. You choose an alcove tub or a deep-soaking tub. Then you pick the wall color and pattern and the fixture finish. Grab bars, built-in seating and slip-resistant surfaces are options too.

Gainesville has a young population, with a median age of 25.5, and it is home to the University of Florida. Still, the details that shape your job are inside your own walls. Look at the shower you have now and how much room it takes up. Ask whether it is the only shower in the house. Think about who will use the tub, and whether grab bars or a seat would help. The worries about permits, and whether this is a good idea, get their own answers below.

Price has its own page below, so here is only the short version. The size and layout of your space matter, along with the tub you pick, the wall style and finish, the fixture finish, and extras like a seat, shelves or grab bars. Your free quote covers the product and the installation.

Step one is a phone call to set up a design visit, with all homeowners at home for it. At the visit, a designer listens and builds a custom plan with options and a free quote, and you choose your colors, finishes and safety features. On install day, the work is done mainly by Love Your Bath's own crews. Jackie S. wrote that "there was no residue of anything from the previous bathroom."

After that, a tub sits where the shower was, with walls in the color you chose. Bath time works again for little ones. A long soak is there on a slow evening. And the room still looks like your bathroom, just with the tub you wanted.
