Disadvantages of a walk-in tub? Here is the honest list.
Straight answers for Gainesville, FL homeowners weighing a walk-in tub.
You like the idea of a walk-in tub. Then you read that you sit inside while it fills, and again while it drains. If you live in Gainesville, you may wonder if that wait is worth it. It is a fair worry, and you should hear the honest answer before you call anyone.
Yes, this is the main downside. You step in, close the door, and sit while the tub fills. When you finish, you stay seated until the water drains, because the door seals to hold the water in. If you like a quick rinse, that wait can feel long. If you love a long, warm soak, it may not bother you at all.
Speed is the part you can control. Walk-in tub options include a quick drain, along with water jets and heated air. The price depends on what you choose, such as the tub size and comfort features like water jets and heated air. Every tub is quoted in the home, because no two bathrooms are the same. The free quote covers the product and the installation.
Before you call anyone, think about how you bathe today. Do you soak most days, or do you mostly shower? When you compare tubs, ask each seller about fill and drain speed. If you mostly shower, a walk-in shower with easier step-in access may suit you better. Love Your Bath, a Jacuzzi® Bath Remodel dealer, will send a designer to your home to tell you honestly which one fits. We have replaced three showers in Gainesville, so a shower is a real option.
Once you pick the right fit, bathing gets simpler. A low entry means a step instead of a climb. A built-in seat and grab bars give you something steady to hold.
