Disadvantages of a walk-in tub? The honest answer
Straight answers on walk-in tubs for Naples, FL, including the wait while the tub fills and drains.
You like the idea of a walk-in tub in Naples. A low step in, a seat and grab bars sound much safer than climbing over a tub wall. But you have read that you sit inside while it fills and drains, and you wonder if that is a dealbreaker. It is a fair question to ask before you call anyone.
The biggest downside is real. A walk-in tub has a door, so you step in while the tub is empty. The door has to seal, so you sit and wait as the water rises. When your bath is over, you stay in until the water drains. If you chill easily, that wait can feel long. For some people, it is a poor fit.
Other things to weigh depend on your space and your choices. A walk-in tub needs room in your bathroom, so the layout matters. The final scope depends on the size and layout of the tub space, the tub size, and the accessibility and wellness features you pick, such as water jets, heated air or a quick drain. Every bathroom is quoted in the home, because no two are the same.
This week, think about how you bathe today. Do you soak, or do you mostly shower? When you compare models, ask about fill and drain speed, and ask about the quick drain option. If you mostly shower, a walk-in shower with easier step-in access may suit you better. Love Your Bath sends a designer to your home to listen to what you want and build a custom plan with options and a free quote.
Once you pick the right fit, bathing feels calm again. You step in instead of climbing over. You sit on a seat and hold a grab bar. Sarah F. wrote in a Google review, "Exceptional professionals that went the extra mile to ensure I was truly happy with my new walkin tub."
