Disadvantages of a walk-in tub? Here are the honest downsides
Straight answers on walk-in tubs for New Port Richey, FL, including the wait while the tub fills and drains.
You like the idea of a walk-in tub, but you have read that you sit inside while it fills and again while it drains. That gives you pause, and it should. Before you call anyone in New Port Richey, you deserve a plain look at the downsides and a way to tell if a tub is right for you.
Yes, there is a real downside. With a walk-in tub, you step in through a door, close it, and then the tub fills. When you finish, you stay seated until the water drains. The door keeps the water in, so you cannot open it early. Many people find this slower than a bath they climb into. It is worth thinking about before you decide.
How much the wait bothers you depends on how you bathe. If you like a long soak a few times a week, it may not matter much. If you mostly shower, a walk-in tub may be more tub than you need. The price depends on the tub size and the safety and wellness features you pick. Options include water jets, heated air and quick drain.
This week, write down how you bathe now. Do you soak or shower, and how often? Then ask about fill and drain speed on every model you compare, and ask about the quick drain option. When you are ready, Love Your Bath, a Jacuzzi® Bath Remodel dealer, can send a designer to your home. The designer will listen to what you want and build a custom plan with options and a free quote, whether that is a walk-in tub or a walk-in shower. A shower with a fold-down seat, like a 2025 New Port Richey shower replacement with Platinum walls, is a real option if you mostly shower.
Once you pick the right fit, bathing stops feeling like a risk. You have a low step in, a seat and grab bars, so you are not climbing over a tub wall. If you chose the tub, you know about the wait and you plan for it. Sarah F. wrote, "Exceptional professionals that went the extra mile to ensure I was truly happy with my new walkin tub." What people in New Port Richey say
"Exceptional professionals that went the extra mile to ensure I was truly happy with my new walkin tub."
"Was professional from beginning to end. The sales rep was knowledgeable about his product. From there the company stayed in regular contact with me advising of timelines with product ordering, permits, etc. Once the installation date was set, a wonderful installer named Angie came and completed the demo and installation single handedly. She was professional, neat and obviously experienced in what she was doing. The company even went over and above driving to a distribution center in Orlando early morning to pick up a special drain needed for my installation to be completed on time. All in all I would recommend this company to anyone looking to remodel."
"We had a great experience with Love Your Bath. Our salesperson, Jamie, thoroughly explained the process and products and presented us with various options. Financing was easy. Our installer, Angie, was great. She was punctual, polite and a very conscientious worker. Her attention to detail is amazing! She explained the process as she went along and patiently answered any questions we had. We're so pleased with her work! Thank you"
