Shower-to-Tub Conversion in Punta Gorda: Your Bath, Your Way
How a shower is turned back into a bathtub for homes in Punta Gorda, FL, and what to expect along the way.
In Punta Gorda, more than half of residents are 65 or older. If your home has a shower and you want a tub, for a warm soak after a walk on the Harborwalk, for grandkids who come to visit, or to help a future sale, a shower-to-tub conversion puts one back.
Start with how you will get in and out. A tub you step over every day should feel safe, not just look good. You can add a slip-resistant surface, grab bars and built-in seating. If stepping over a tub wall is already hard, a walk-in tub may suit you better. It has a low-threshold entry, an easy-to-open door that seals out water, and an integrated seat.
The job itself is easy to picture. The crew takes out your shower and sets a new Jacuzzi® bathtub where it stood, with a new wall surround. We work only on the wet area, so your floors and vanity stay as they are. You choose a classic alcove tub or a deep-soaking tub, then the wall type, color and pattern, the base and the fixture finish.
We have three jobs on file in Punta Gorda, all shower replacements, and no two look alike. One has Alabaster walls in a herringbone pattern, Matte Black fixtures and a custom enclosure. Another has Matte Alabaster walls in a carved stone pattern with Brushed Nickel fixtures over an Alabaster White base. You get the same say over the walls around your new tub.
Every tub is quoted in your home, because no two bathrooms are the same. The quote depends on the size and layout of the space, the tub you pick, the base, the wall style and finish, the fixture finish, and extras like a seat, shelves or grab bars. It is free, and it covers the product and the installation.
To get going, call Love Your Bath and book a free design visit. All homeowners are asked to be there. A designer listens to what you want, then builds a custom plan with options. Install takes as little as one day, and rarely a second. Laura G. wrote, "We had great service from start to finish." When the crew leaves, a tub sits where the shower was, framed by walls you picked yourself.
