Tub-to-Shower Conversion in Sanford: What the Swap Looks Like

Getting over the tub wall used to be nothing, and now it takes a hand on the wall and some care. If that sounds like your bathroom, or a parent's, in Sanford, you are probably wondering what it takes to put a walk-in shower where the tub sits now. Here is the full picture, start to finish.

Here is the work in Sanford, from start to finish. The tub is taken out and a low-threshold Jacuzzi® shower is set into the same space, so getting in is a step. Nothing outside the wet area is touched, so floors and vanities stay as they are. You decide the wall type and color, the base type and color, and the fixture colors. You can add a seat, shelves or grab bars, and Jacuzzi barrier-free showers are part of the lineup too. We have replaced three showers in Sanford. One from 2024 has smooth Alabaster walls, Matte Black fixtures and a teak seat.

Sanford is the county seat of Seminole County, on the south shore of Lake Monroe. The historic downtown, centered on First Street, has shops, restaurants and art galleries, and the Sanford Riverwalk runs along the lakefront. The Orlando-area office sits in Altamonte Springs, also in Seminole County. None of this changes what your tub wall looks like, though. Check your own room: how hard the step over feels, where your hand reaches for support, and whether a seat would help.

Price comes down to your space and your picks, not to a number on a flyer. That means the size and layout of the shower area, the base, the wall style and finish, the fixture finish, and extras like a seat, shelves or grab bars. The quote is free, covers the product and the installation, and is done in your home, since no two bathrooms match. The questions below go deeper on cost, permits and whether the change is right for you.

First, call to book a design visit, and plan for all homeowners to be there. During that visit, a Love Your Bath designer takes in what you want, then builds a custom plan with options and a free quote. Next, you choose your colors, finishes and safety features. Then comes the install, done mainly by the company's own crews, since its installers are primarily W-2 employees. Barbara B. wrote, "Our installer was very polite and worked very hard to get finished in 2 days."

Afterward, the bathroom works for you again. You step into the shower, sit down if you want to, and find a grab bar right where it should be. Showering stops being something you plan around and goes back to being a normal part of the day. That is the whole goal of the change.
