Walk-In Tubs in St. Augustine: What to Expect

People in St. Augustine start looking at walk-in tubs when stepping over a tub wall begins to feel like a risk. You may love a long, warm bath and not want to give it up. The median age in St. Augustine is 48.7 years. This page shows what the change looks like in your own bathroom.

A walk-in tub job in St. Augustine is about one bathroom and one tub. The old tub comes out and a new one with a low entry goes in. You step in through an easy-to-open door that seals against water. Then you sit on the built-in seat and hold the grab bars. The floor is anti-slip. You can add water jets, heated air or a quick drain. The walls are one piece with no grout, so there is less to scrub. We have put in one walk-in tub in St. Augustine, a 2025 job with Windstorm walls.

The city itself does not change how a walk-in tub works. St. Augustine's historic downtown has brick streets, and the Lighthouse sits on Anastasia Island, about 1.5 miles from downtown. What changes the answer is your bathroom. Look at the space around your tub. Think about where you would sit to wait for the water to drain. Think about who might need to help you. A designer can walk through those questions with you in the room, so the choices fit how you actually bathe.

What a walk-in tub takes depends on a few things. The tub size matters. So do the accessibility and wellness features you choose, like a seat, grab bars, jets or heated air. The size and layout of your space matter too. Every tub is quoted in your home, because no two bathrooms are the same. The free quote includes the tub and the installation. The questions people worry about most, like downsides, cost and Medicare, have their own pages below.

It starts with a visit at your home. Love Your Bath is a Jacuzzi® Bath Remodel dealer, and a designer will listen to what you want and build a plan with options. You pick the wall color, the base and the features. After you approve the plan, the install is done in as little as one day. Some installs take a second day, rarely. All homeowners are asked to be present at the design consultation, so the plan reflects what you want.

Once it is done, the tub is just part of your bathroom again. Sarah F. wrote, "Exceptional professionals that went the extra mile to ensure I was truly happy with my new walkin tub." You get a step in place of a climb, a seat and something solid to hold. The long bath you enjoy is still there, and the worry about getting in and out is much smaller.
