Disadvantages of a walk-in tub? The honest answer

If you have watched a launch from Space View Park, you know that waiting is part of life in Titusville. A walk-in tub asks for a different kind of wait, because you sit inside while it fills and again while it drains. Before you call anyone about one, here is a plain look at that tradeoff.

Here is the downside, plainly. A walk-in tub has a door that seals to hold the water. You step in, close the door, and wait for the tub to fill. Then you stay seated until it drains, because you cannot step out early. If you love a long soak, that may feel like part of the treat. If you like a quick rinse, it may feel slow.

Love Your Bath has three jobs on file in Titusville: two bathtub replacements and one shower replacement. One of them was a shower with smooth Platinum walls, Matte Black fixtures and a fold-down seat. Those were not walk-in tubs, but they show how the process works. Every choice is yours, from colors to safety features. For a walk-in tub, the price depends on the tub size and the features you choose, such as water jets, heated air or a quick drain. Your bathroom space matters too. The designer quotes it in your home, and the free quote includes the product and the installation.

This week, notice how you bathe. Do you soak a few times a week, or shower most days? Jot it down. When you compare models, ask how fast each one fills and drains. If you mostly shower, a walk-in shower with easier step-in access may be the better fit. The designer will tell you which one suits you. You do not have to decide on the first visit.

Once you land on the right fit, bathing feels safe again. You walk in through a low entry instead of climbing over a tub wall, and a seat and grab bars are close by. Sarah F. wrote, "Exceptional professionals that went the extra mile to ensure I was truly happy with my new walkin tub." Installs take as little as One Day, and some take a second day, rarely.
