Shower-to-Tub Conversion in Lakewood Ranch: Bath Time Back

If your Lakewood Ranch home has a shower where you would like a tub, this page is for you. Some people want bath time back for grandkids who visit. Others want a deep soak at night, or a tub in the house for resale. Whatever the reason, the change is smaller than a full remodel.

Lakewood Ranch is a planned community in Manatee and Sarasota counties, east of I-75, with Main Street as its town center. In a home here, a shower-to-tub conversion means your shower comes out and a genuine Jacuzzi® bathtub goes in. You pick a classic alcove tub or a deep-soaking tub. You also pick the wall type and color, the base and the fixture colors, so the new surround suits your home. Slip-resistant surfaces, grab bars and built-in seating are all options. The tub is made from a durable material that resists damage, keeps its color and has anti-microbial protection. Only the wet area changes, and the rest of the room stays as you have it.

The median age in Lakewood Ranch was 52.3 at the 2020 census. Whatever your age, the right tub depends on who will use it. Think about getting in and out. A tub means stepping over a wall, so grab bars or a built-in seat may be worth adding. Think about who visits, too. Grandkids, guests and your own evening soak all count. For a look at finish choices, one Lakewood Ranch shower replacement from 2025 has Alabaster walls in a 3x6 subway pattern and Brushed Nickel fixtures.

The price comes down to your space and your picks. Size and layout, tub type, wall style and finish, fixture finish, and extras like shelves or a seat all play a part. Every tub is quoted in the home, and the quote covers the product and the installation. Questions about cost, permits and whether to switch at all each have their own answer below.

It starts with a call to set a time. A designer from Love Your Bath then visits your Lakewood Ranch home, with all homeowners asked to be present. The designer gets a clear picture of what you want and creates a custom plan with options and a free quote. You make your picks. After that, the install happens in as little as one day, and a second day is rare. Richard J. noted that his installer "protected our floors."

When it is done, a tub stands where the shower was, with walls in the color and pattern you picked. Bath time is back for grandkids, guests or you. The rest of the bathroom looks just as it did, only now it has the tub you wanted.
