Could a tub swap need a permit? Ask before anyone starts
Permits and shower-to-tub conversion in New Smyrna Beach, FL, sorted out before the work begins.
You are ready for a tub, but the word permit makes you pause. Will the job stall? Will it come up when you sell? For a home in New Smyrna Beach, in Volusia County, you want to know where you stand first. A little homework now saves a headache later.
A permit is permission from your city or county for certain kinds of work on a home. Whether a bathroom job needs one depends on the details of that job. That is the honest answer, and it is why a quick web search does not settle it.
Here the work is narrow. Only the wet area changes: the shower is removed, a new Jacuzzi® tub is set, and fresh walls go around it. There is no floor or vanity work. Your choices of tub, base, walls and extras form the plan. The install is done mainly by the company's own crews.
Before you sign anything, ask the permit question out loud. The easiest place is the design visit with Love Your Bath in your New Smyrna Beach home. The designer listens to what you want and builds a custom plan with options and a free quote. Raise the permit question while you look at that plan. If you would like to double-check, your city or county office can tell you too. Do not let a start date get set before that is settled.
Once that is cleared up, the rest is the fun part: colors, patterns and the first bath. Maggie C. wrote, "The shower is beautiful, exceeded my expectations!" You get a finished tub and peace of mind about how it got there.
What people in New Smyrna Beach say
"Awesome experience from working with Dave, the installer, to Jeff Manzetti, the sales trainer. The shower is beautiful, exceeded my expectations! Super communication. A wonderful job! Thank you."
"Installer jean santiago was absolutely phenomenal . Very precise and cautious about his work. Everything he does has to be perfect . Couldn't have asked for any better craftsmanship . Anyone who uses this company for any type of bathroom remodeling i would highly recommend on insisting on having jean santiago be the installer"
"Our experience with Love Your Bath has been excellent so far. The scheduling process was very thorough. Our sales executive, Dean Willis, arrived to our home on time for our meeting, and was very courteous and professional during his presentation. My husband and I felt that he was sincere about the product, and we appreciated that he listened to us and our needs. His product knowledge was outstanding. We did not expect to make a decision about our project quite so quickly but we are convinced that Jacuzzi is the right product for our shower renovation. We will gladly provide another review once the work is completed."
Other things people in New Smyrna Beach ask
is it a good idea to convert a tub to a shower
Think about who uses the bathroom today and in the next few years. A walk-in shower is easier and safer to step into. A tub matters more to families with small children. If the home has another tub, converting one is rarely a problem. Our designer will talk it through with you before you decide.
shower to tub conversion cost
The cost depends on the space, the tub you choose and the wall surround style. We replace only what is needed, so it is far less than a full remodel. A designer measures at home and gives you a free, written quote.
