Walk-In Showers in St. Petersburg: Easy In, Easy Clean
What a walk-in shower means for your St. Petersburg, FL home, what shapes the price, and how the visit works.
St. Petersburg has more than 100 neighborhoods, from Old Northeast next to downtown to the historic bungalows of Kenwood. Whichever one is yours, you are likely here because the step over the tub has gotten harder, or because you are planning ahead for a parent. Either way, a walk-in shower is worth a close look.
Work in St. Petersburg has meant two shower replacements and one bathtub replacement. One 2024 shower has Platinum walls in a herringbone pattern, Matte Black fixtures and a fold-down seat. A 2025 shower went with smooth Alabaster walls, Brushed Nickel fixtures and a dual bypass door. A walk-in shower is built from the same kinds of choices, as a Jacuzzi® shower system. It has a low or barrier-free entry, grout-free walls that help reduce mold and mildew buildup, and a seat and grab bars placed where they help you. You choose every color and finish.
St. Petersburg sits in Pinellas County. Old Northeast is a historic neighborhood next to downtown, and Kenwood is best known for its historic bungalows. Downtown has galleries, museums and waterfront parks. None of that tells you what your own bathroom needs, so look before you call. Is the tub your only shower? Is there a second bath someone could use during the work? Who in the home needs a seat or a bar to hold? Write those answers down before the visit.
The price comes from your space and your choices, and it is set in the home after the bathroom is seen. It depends on a shower or a tub, the size and layout of the space, the base, the wall style and finish, the fixture finish, and extras like a seat, shelves or grab bars. Product and installation are both covered. Only the wet area is part of the work, so floors and vanities stay as they are. Color and finish options reflect the latest bathroom design trends.
You call Love Your Bath and set a time when all homeowners can be there. A designer comes over, listens, and builds a custom plan with options and a free quote. Ask whatever comes to mind while the designer is there. After you choose colors, finishes and safety features, the install is scheduled. Installation is done mainly by their own crews, and c R. wrote that J Westfall "arrived on time, informed me of everything that was to be done." At the end, the crew walks you through every detail.
When it is done, you step into the shower instead of over a wall. The seat is there when you want it, and the bars are where your hands go. You keep the rest of the bathroom as it was, from the floor to the vanity. The questions below cover tub removal, cost and other options in more depth.

What people in St. Petersburg say
"Had a Garden Tub to Walk in shower conversion . Tristan was the installer. He did this 2 day job by himself . I was very impressed with his skills during demo and install in a 3rd floor condo incased in concrete. He had to break out the jack hammer to complete the drain. Once completed the Shower is awesome. Thank you Paul G"
